A family story

Vines, time and transmission.

Domaine de la Vieille takes its name from the hamlet where it stands, just outside Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers. Winemaking passion is passed down from one generation to the next.

For eleven generations, the Ratier family has cultivated this remarkable Pic Saint-Loup terroir. In 2002, Guy Ratier took over from his parents and built a new winery. Julien joined the estate in 2011.

In 2014, the family began using plants, flowers and essential oils to reduce permitted copper and sulphur. Magnetoculture trials followed in 2015, both in the vineyard and cellar.

We grow our grapes, make our wines and bottle them at the estate: genuine grower-producer work, from vine to bottle.

European organic certification FR-BIO-01

Certified organic since 2014

Organic is our starting point, not our final claim.

Since 2014, every wine we make has been certified organic under FR-BIO-01. In the vineyard and cellar, we work with plants, flowers and reduced copper and sulphur doses through to bottling.
